JULY 14, 2024 – Update
I went back to Jacobs Pool on Linden Avenue in Northeast Philly today, and I’m not sure how I missed in the hubbub of the Independence Day pool cleaning closure that this playground is directly next to a pretty awesome tractor graveyard/parking lot! Such a Philly thing for someone to sunbathe on a concrete pool deck right next to a bunch of rotting rust buckets that could fuel serious steampunk fantasies of time and space travel. But I digress.
This pool was filled with happy people of all shapes, sizes and ages this afternoon. You can bring your bags inside. There’s no wheelchair lift, but there are two stairways with handrails that are a reasonable height for most adults making this pool more accessible than many.
Beach decor on the pool deck, wild industrial graveyard next door — personally I’m loving it and am glad I did this follow up trip.
I did make it into the restrooms in the rec center. There are two stalls in the women’s room, one larger with railings and the other smaller with a functional door. While the wheelchair accessible stall comes with a complementary bidet (or hose, depending on your perspective), the door does not close, so it’s unlikely anyone would want to use this given that the entrance to the room is a propped open door. But there are two stalls in each restroom that could be used for changing.
Pool was roped in half so no lap swimming could be done (easily), at least not during free swim. Friends who have been commenting on my posts indicate that lap swimming is best done during adult swim, which I can absolutely believe since the pools are generally empty during adult swim (from 6 to 7pm Monday through Friday in most pools).

Got here and parked just in time for them to close the pool so they could clean up some puke. I will stop back another time.
