#MyPhillyPoolTour2024
JULY 18, 2024
I’d previously called about whether Aqua Zumba would be returning here this year, and the rec center staff did call me back to deliver the sad news that there will not be any aqua fitness other than swim lessons this season.
I brought a swim buddy who had never been here before, and this was my first time back to the pool since they had Zumba here. It really is pretty awesome. Tall walls around the busy street-sides give this a private-swim-club kind of feel, and the pool is really nice with furniture and friendly faces filling the place.
There was a dedicated lap swimming lane, which is rare and often requested by people who have been following my tour on Facebook.
Kids were allowed to wear t-shirts and floats in the pool; bags were allowed in the pool area.
Some folks brought lunch and were eating poolside while reading books or sunbathing.
Lots of beach chairs to lounge around on, some with shade umbrellas.
No wheelchair lift but there are stairs in the two-foot kiddo section for accessibility.
The bathroom was quite busy with children as the women’s room (with two stalls total) had one stall out of order and families changing.
Warm water and sunny, smiles all around this afternoon.
Old school water fountain at the entrance delivered warm tap water, but was fun to use. Philly could definitely use more public drinking water (and toilet) sources, and this is an awesome antique throwback.
