Looking for information about Philadelphia’s public pools can be daunting. There are multiple layers of government management, outdated pages and groups and sites, and conflicting interpretations of what is actually happening.

These guides by Kali Morgan are an effort to make it easier for you and yours to jump right in!

Check this City site for the official 2025 pool opening dates.

Access & Services

Looking for ADA access or programs like Sensory Swim? Check this guide to pool accessibility & programming.

Philadelphia’s public swimming pools are free to all swimmers. Some are more accessible than others, and each has its own culture, rules, and procedures.

Kali created these guides to help you to wade right into the water instead of mucking through a mudslide of guesswork or footwork to figure out how to get wet on a hot summer day! (Sadly, there is currently very limited year-round public swimming in Philly.)

These guides include a page for each pool, where you can see for yourself what the pool looks like, what programs and amenities are provided, and more. Please comment on individual pages with news or updates!
