JULY 22, 2024 – UPDATE
I am wrapping up my tour by revisiting the pools I was unable to get into in previous weeks.
So glad I made it here!
A large rectangular pool, close but probably not quite as big as Cobbs Creek Pool, smaller than Kelly Pool or Hunting Park Pool, but significantly longer than your average Philly public pool.
Large and furnished pool deck.
Cool but not cold water.
Steps on one end AND A WORKING CHAIR LIFT, which is so hard to find.
Plus the guard tells me they take the divider rope down during adult swim (6-7pm) for lap swimming.
Given that this is one of two pools open this year south of Market Street in West/Southwest Philly, and given its large accommodations, I would definitely recommend a visit to this expansive rec complex near 68th and Lindbergh to jump in the pool!
Pool house has accessible men’s room and women’s rooms, each with two large stalls, however there are curtains instead of doors.

This is one of the pools listed on the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation website as potentially having a wheelchair lift, so I had to investigate.
Got to this part of the neighborhood just as the skies opened up. It was raining so hard. We could see the pool in the distance through the rain in the middle of a very large recreation area surrounded by a playground, playing fields, and lots of trees.
Yikes! We had a terrifying moment when lightning struck inches from the road in front of our car.
We will have to revisit – in the meantime I inquired on on Facebook Group SOUTHWEST PHILLY!! to see if anyone has more info on this pool but got no response…
