Sad that both this and F.J. Myers Pool are dry this year… Everyone from Cobbs Creek south to Kingsessing and north to Market Street has only Christy Pool to cool off — or open the hydrants, as we saw some neighborhood folks doing today. My friend got permission to take their photo so that she could use the picture for a painting.
Looks like major repairs/overhauls are happening with this rec center. It’s been so many years since I’ve been to this pool that I don’t remember a lot of the particulars other than the “after hours” swims and my adopting of several kids during my college years so they could swim during family swim.
