#MyPhillyPoolTour2024
JULY 4, 2024
Lawncrest Pool was always a good time, although technically there were three pools when I was growing up, which is why my diving dad sometimes drove us over a couple of neighborhoods to swim here. (Later he would take us to Neshaminy Park Pool in Bucks County in search of the magical diving board.) If you look closely at the pool deck, you can still see where the original diving pool and kiddie/splash pool were filled in.
We used to come to this playground for Independence Day fireworks as a kid (and more recently to Jardel). There will be fireworks on Saturday, and volunteers met us at the pool gate selling t-shirts to raise funds for them.
I had stopped by last week to try and take Aqua Zumba after the aquatic fitness schedule was shared on Facebook, but didn’t get in the water until today because the schedule was released prematurely and programming begins next week officially. I might have waited to revisit, but my friends from the neighborhood had never been here, so I wanted them to experience it.

This is a #SwimPhilly location with fancy lawn chairs and umbrellas, and you are absolutely allowed to bring pool toys, towels, and personal belongings into the pool deck seating areas. It was my final pool stop today with Chase and Brynn Milligan, though I plan to continue solo to at least two more Northeast Philly pools today (a fool’s errand it would turn out).
