#MyPhillyPoolTour2024
JULY 18
I previously called about whether aqua Zumba would be returning here this year, and the rec center staff did call me back to deliver the sad news that there will not be any aqua fitness other than swim lessons.
I brought a swim buddy who has never been here before, and this is my first time back to the pool since they had Zumba here. It really is pretty awesome. Tall walls around the busy street sides give this a private swim club kind of feel… and the pool is really niece with furniture and friendly faces filling the place.
There was a dedicated lap swimming lane, which is rare and often requested by people who have been following my tour o Facebook.
Kids were allowed to wear T-shirts and floats in the pool, bags were allowed in the pool area.
Some folks brought lunch and we’re eating poolside while reading books/sunbathing
Lots of extra beach chairs to lounge around on , some with shade umbrellas
No lift but there are stairs in the 2 foot kiddo section for accessibility
There even one lane designated for laps swimming even though this is not the largest pool in the city by far
The rec center bathroom was quite busy with children as the women’s Room (2 stalls total)had one stall out of order and some families were changing.
Depth range from 2 feet to 5 feet
Warm water and sunny, smiles all around this afternoon.
Old school water fountain at the entrance. delivered warm tapwater, but was fun to use. Philly could definitely use more water public water (and toilet) sources in general and this is an awesome old antique throwback.
